At the beginning of the 1900s, Domenico Cerretano began trading wines. On board a traìno and armed with patience and passion, he toured Abruzzo proposing the wines of his beloved land.
A passion that Domenico handed down to his son Nicolò Giorgio. He married a woman of peasant extraction, Rachele, who combined her husband's passion for the wine trade with the ability to cultivate grapes. Thanks to this successful combination, only the trade was accompanied by a small production of wine.
Their son Antonio inherited the skills of both parents so much so that in the 1950s he founded La Cantina Cerretano and implemented new vineyards. From those years on, the production of grapes and wines had an exponential development.
Destined to continue the path traced by their ancestors, Antonio's children continue their family tradition, producing products that are one of the most significant expressions of their territory. Hence their choice to take care of and implement native vines such as Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Doc, Malvasia, cococciola, Trebbiano and Pecorino, processed with a semi-artisan method, respectful of tradition and in step with the ever growing desire to have good and healthy wines on the table.
In recent years, the company has taken a decidedly "organic" turn, absorbing an already certified organic company and converting the rest of the vineyards.
